Han-Na Chang made a stunning and unprecedented international debut at the age of 11, winning the Grand Prix (First Prize) at the 5th Rostropovich International Cello Competition in Paris in 1994. Since then, she has built a prestigious and uniquely multifaceted international career as a cellist, conductor, and Artistic Director.
Beginning in 2007, she has devoted her artistic work exclusively to conducting, leading many of the world’s major orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Munich Philharmonic, RAI Italian National Symphony Torino, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Oslo Philharmonic, Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, Staatskapelle Dresden, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Teatro di San Carlo, and the Sydney, Bamberg, Bern, Vienna, Toronto, Tokyo, and Vancouver Symphony Orchestras, among others…
In November 2025, she was appointed Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Graduate School of Culture Technology at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), extending her artistic leadership into the frontier domain of AI technology. In this role, she collaborates on pioneering research at the intersection of AI and the performing arts, exploring new horizons in creative collaboration and arts–technology convergence. She also gives leadership lectures for undergraduate and graduate students and leads open orchestral masterclasses focusing on musical interpretation and collaborative processes.
Han-Na Chang studied philosophy at Harvard University. Her artistic leadership and influence reach far beyond the stage, grounded in her conviction that the joy of music should be available to and shared by all. She engages widely with the public on culture, the arts, and leadership through major speaking engagements, including delivering the Keynote Speech at the 2025 General Assembly of the Asia-Pacific Performing Arts Centres (AAPPAC) and giving an in-depth leadership lecture at NAVER, South Korea’s largest technology and internet platform company.
Drawing on her 31-year artistic journey, Han-Na Chang continues to forge a singular and distinctive artistic world—guided by profound musical insight, warm leadership, and a vision to share the joy of music with all—expanding the horizons of classical music with depth and individuality.

2025년 11월 KAIST 문화기술대학원 초빙특임교수로 임명된 그는 AI–공연예술 융합 연구와 새로 운 공연예술 가능성 모색을 위해 자문 및 협력하고 있으며, 학부생·대학원생을 대상으로 예술 리더십 특강, 오케스트라 마스터클래스를 통해 음악적 해석과 협업의 과정을 지도하고 있다.
장한나는 하버드대학교에서 철학을 전공하였다. 그는 음악적 리더십을 인문학적 기반 위에 확립해 왔 으며, 아시아태평양공연장협회(AAPPAC) 총회 기조연설, 네이버(NAVER) 사내 리더십 강연 등 다양 한 강연을 통해 문화예술과 리더십에 대해 폭넓게 소통하고 있다.
31년에 걸친 여정을 바탕으로 장한나는 깊이 있는 음악적 통찰과 따뜻한 리더십, 그리고 음악의 기쁨 을 모두와 나누고자 하는 비전을 토대로 클래식 음악의 지평선을 넓히며 깊이있고 독특한 예술세계 를 독보적으로 만들어 가고 있다.
